Six Prototypes for a Screensaver was commissioned for “Quick, Quick, Slow: Word, Image and Time”. Curated by Emily King, this exhibition is a co-production between Museu Colecção Berardo with ExperimentaDesign Lisboa 2009 and is installed at the Museu Colecção Berardo in Lisbon, Portugal from 10 September - 29 November.
This collection of six prototype softwares together with a sixteen-page text propose a retroactive history of the screensaver. The screensavers are programmed for Macintosh OS X and offered in this package together with a 16-page printed booklet. This package includes the following screensavers (click for more information on each):
Three Minutes of Doing Nothing,
After His Beautiful Machine of 1855,
Breaking Like Surf on a Shore Until,
The Result of Collapsing Two Simultaneous Views,
Al Gore Woke Up One Morning Wondering,
